Redeeming Our Communities The Book - Feedback

Faithworks Magazine:

Books like this are always welcome. Green describes a 21st century church we can be proud of; alive, angry, humble, amazed, and determined to be the love of Christ in the darkest corners of our cities.

From her home city of Manchester to villages in Cornwall and Wales, we read story after story of prayer-based initiatives earning the respect of secular agencies and providing models for wider transformation. Churches, community groups, politicians and police are working together to lower crime, improve schooling, rejuvenate the arts and make policing more effective. Presented in ten clear chapters, each sub-divided into bite-sized sections, Redeeming our Communities is easy to read and instantly engaging. Weaving together strands of vision in the church today with wisdom and authority, Green reminds us that it is you and I, ordinary people, making ourselves available to our powerful God, which changes this world. Read it and be encouraged.

Joe Malaika:
The book is fantastic, whenever I pick it up, I cant put it down.  It has given me real inspiration for the urban miracle. (Prayer group for gun & gang culture).

Estar Bennett:

Debra's latest book is definitely a must read for the body of Christ engaged in the great commission (Mat 28:19). The book offers variety of models that have been tried and tested in various communities. From the festival model, to community partnerships (esp. with the police) right to working with the young people. The book though written largely in the context of UK can be rightly applied across the nations.

The style of the book is easy to read and flows well, which makes it an ideal reference book for any church/community library.

Hugh Wallace:

What a breath of fresh air and inspiration in our cynical and despairing climate with stories of hope and life, forgiveness and healing. Without a triumphalist tone Debra celebrates the touch of God upon communities, cities, towns, villages, families, individuals and organisations almost with understatement so that the power of these transformed situations speak for themselves. Great stories rooted in scriptural principles, redeemed lives living in the power of the pirit. Roll on the next book.

Andrew Bowker:

Get this book now! Don't wait for Christmas. This book is indeed easy to read, and thrilling in the way it describes the growth of an effective movement for evangelism and community transformation. It will inspire you to creative thinking and give you hope.
The book is in a sense a snapshot in time, which is why you need to get it and read it now, and understand what God is doing (particularly in the UK, and not least in the North West) today.
