Feedback from Launch Event

"On behalf of Gee and everyone at the Foundation I would like to say thank for your hard work in event managing a spectacular event at the Liverpool Echo Arena. The production quality was outstanding – and the message of course was powerful. The combination of speakers, witness statements and young people performing worked well – entertaining, uplifting and spiritually meaningful."
- Dr Tony Lloyd, CEO Anthony Walker Foundation

"Just wanted to congratulate you on what was a very well organised and inspirational event. Although without faith I am always keen for MBPA support our various other support networks, not least to embrace the principal of diversity and difference.

I and a number of MBPA colleagues attended the Echo arena and in addition to wishing to support the event, I also attended to learn.

I am aware of the role that the church plays locally in our communities (who could fail to be impressed by Gee Walker?). I also hear of good work being carried out further afield by people such as The Rev. Nims Obunge, for example. I was particularly interested to see how innovative 'the church' was prepared to be and the street pastor scheme stands out in this respect.

I would sum what you do up with the final words of the Leicestershire Chief Constable, who spoke on the night and stated, this was '...good people, doing good work'. Keep it up!"
- Vinny Tomlinson, Chair, Merseyside Black Police Association

"My thanks to you for organising such an excellent event. It was great to see so many people coming together to address the challenge of reducing knife crime... As a nurse who has treated victims of knife crime and worked with their families in previous roles I have only praise for your initiative."
- Prof. Rod Thomson FRCN FFPH, Consultant in Public Health, NHS Sefton

"I thought the event was absolutely brilliant and very inspirational and would welcome being invited to any other similar events.

The only feedback I would give is that I would have liked more time for the opportunity to speak to more of the people present. I did make contact with some people who I thought would be vital in our community engagement strategy but I am sure that there were people present who it would have been advantageous to speak to.

Thank you for inviting me, I appreciate how difficult it is organising an event this size and you did a tremendous job, I am sure it is an event the attendees will remember for a long time to come."
- Anne Kay, Court Manager, North and South Sefton Magistrates' Court

"It has been a great pleasure to be able to attend the event. The food, the networking opportunity, the music and the dance were all very great.

Many thanks for giving me the opportunity."
- Michael Horlorku, Community Cohesion Support Officer

"It was a pleasure and honour to be invited to the event and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I really liked the idea of involving the communities and in particular all faith groups to combat the crimes and would have liked greater involvement of other faith groups. Perhaps it would be a good idea to encourage other faith groups to organise similar events with Police."
- Dhuni Soren

"What an amazing night Tuesday was; we so enjoyed the evening; it was such a privilege to be there. The evening was totally inspirational, challenging and everything it should have been. Fantastic to see so many police in attendance and staying until the end!"
- Ian and Pauline Cole, World Prayer Centre

"Just wanted to say how impressed I was with the event on Tuesday evening. The passion really shone through, and I felt honoured to be a part of it. I hope that this be the start of a very fruitful, and worthwhile relationship together."
- Sue Connolly, Race Equality Officer

"Firstly may I say how much I enjoyed the event on Tuesday at the Liverpool Echo Arena. I took with me two (dare I say ex) offenders who currently reside at the Church of England Approved Premises for female offenders in Liverpool. They too enjoyed the evening and have some excellent ideas as to how they, as offenders, can work with the police to improve their own situation. We are hoping to take their ideas forward next week when I am back with them."
- Marion Hawley, Anglican Chaplain.

"I just wanted to send a quick email to thank you so much for bringing the Redeeming Our Communities event/vision to Merseyside on Tuesday. The event in the Echo arena was enjoyable, encouraging and challenging all at the same time. What a great night!

I was really pleased to see lots of people from the Wirral there and I met 3 youth groups that I know on the train home – I was so encouraged. Thanks again."
- Martin Dickson, Youth For Christ

"It was a pleasure to meet you this evening, it was a very good evening and, even for me a non-christian, very powerful. I hope that it reaches its objective."
- David A Coleman, Liverpool Jewish Resource Centre

"Thanks so much for all the effort you put into making tonight's event happen. It was the most uplifting and motivating event I have been at for a long time."
- Matt Wilson, The Message Trust

"Just to say how fantastic I thought both the Liverpool and Manchester Redeeming our Communities events were! You are a remarkable woman of God . If you ever think of doing such an event in Cheshire, please contact me!"

- Cllr Fiona Bruce, Warrington

"I attended on behalf of Sefton Magistrates Court - can I say the event was inspiring. We are currently devising a multi-agency programme to tackle knife crime issues with young people and the event gave me the motivation to continue with the work we are doing.

Can I thank you for inviting me to such a fantastic event I left with a feeling of optimism due to the number of people in attendance who want to make a difference."

- Jane Wignall, Sefton Magistrates Court
