Support for Redeeming Our Communities Birmingham

Given where we are with the financial environment and the threat to frontline policing, it’s even more important now than ever that we build capacity within communities.
Redeeming Our Communities is about unlocking that capacity within communities with our police officers working together with organisations such as the Street Pastors, volunteers and the Christian network, doing good within communities and protecting the frontline by immobilizing people within the community to help.

I think faith is a major part of the city, without faith organisations we would be unable to cope with issues in the cities communities including youth, mental health and care for the elderly.
Councillor Alan Rudge, Cabinet Member for Equalities and Human Resources,
Birmingham City Council

Having worked and worshipped in Birmingham for many years, I see Redeeming Our Communities as not just an event in the City, but as part of the coming of Gods kingdom into every area of life in the city.
In the coming together of people of goodwill we shall see that diversity is not division, our different cultures are to be enjoyed and in that unity of the good news of the gospel, we can see a transformation that blesses every girl and boy, man and woman in this great City.
I highly commend every aspect of the November event and its ongoing work in the years to come.
Ian Cole, World Prayer Centre, Birmingham

Birmingham is a place with real challenges and massive opportunities. ROC is a fantastic way of drawing people together across the city, building new relationships, and celebrating great work already being done. Anyone with a heart of humanity for the community can play a part supporting those in need and encouraging people to believe in themselves to take positive action. There is so much more to be done and it is exciting to see the Christian and Catholic Churches both share what they are doing and get more involved supporting joint action in our community to help others. On behalf of the WMCPN I fully support this initiative and look forward to working with you. If this is new to you then please get involved - you are more than welcome!"
Superintendent Pete Blackburn, Chair, West Midlands Christian Police Network

For a long time I have seen the changes Redeeming Our Communities has brought to the city of Manchester and have often visualised this work impacting the city of Birmingham.

I see this as an answer to prayer and I believe Redeeming Our Communities is a crucial key for the church, christian organisations, the Police force and others who are interested to see change in our city, providing a platform for us to work together in unity and bring transofmation.

Looking forward to the event in November!
