Inspector Kevin Borg

 

Kevin Borg has served with West Midlands Police for 15 years.  In that time he has policed various areas of inner city Birmingham, applying problem solving policing methods to local neighbourhood problems. He is currently part of the Safer Birmingham Partnership, and is working as an Inspector for Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hyde.

 

Kevin is the founder of the New Hope Mentoring Programme (NHMP) which won the Faithworks 1^st prize as a community engagement project in 2005. NHMP mentors ex offenders back into their communities, utilising volunteers from that community, usually from local churches.

   

Kevin has regional responsibility for the management of Prolific and Priority offenders, which by definition are those that commit the most crime and cause the most harm to our communities. Offender management is a multi agency approach to servicing the whole family and its needs, in an attempt to encourage a more productive lifestyle.
