Debra Green is the Director of City Links.

Debra is on the pastoral staff team of Ivy Manchester, a church in South Manchester. She is married to Frank and they have 4 children.  

She is the Director of City Links, a Charity founded in 2003, to foster, forge and further unity between churches and cities towards the goal of community transformation.

She is a pioneer of prayer and prophetic ministries, and has travelled widely in the UK and abroad, teaching about prayer and outreach for cities. She provides consultancy on city-wide prayer and networking strategies which help to transform communities and make mission more effective. She is a regular speaker at Christian conferences.  Frank and Debra have published a book called "City-changing prayer", which tells the story of how united prayer gatherings have led to transformation in their city. Debra has recently (March 2008) published a second book "Redeeming Our Communities- 21st Century Miracles of Social Transformation".

Ministry to date

  • Founder of Manchester Prayer Network in 1993.
  • Worked on Church Liaison and project development officer for Network, the Evangelical Alliance in Manchester, 1993-2002. Developed links with around 200 churches.
  • Appointed as an elder of Ivy Manchester Church 1998.
  • Planted Prayer Network into 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester 1998-2003. Organised and hosted large annual city-wide prayer events in the Apollo Theatre, Velodrome Cycling Centre and Lowry Theatre 2000-2003, each attended by over 1,500 people. Launched Rossendale Prayer Network 2002.
  • On national council, Evangelical Alliance 1998-2004.
  • Started Manchester Leaders Lunches January 1998-2005.
  • Responsible for prayer for Message 2000.
  • On the 24-7 national oversight team since 2000.
  • On Executive leadership team and management board of “More Than Gold” for Commonwealth Games 2000-2002. Worked with around 220 Churches.
  • Hosted Commonwealth Games “Engine Room” nightly prayer event, Summer 2002
  • Festival: Manchester Church Liaison co-ordinator and Prayer Co-ordinator October 2002-September 2003. Developed links with over 510 churches in Greater Manchester.
  • Speaker at conferences & events - eg Spring Harvest, Equipped to Lead, Roots, Pioneer Leaders conference, New Wine, NorthEast England Women's Conference.
  • Speaker at churches and City networks around UK - eg Ealing, Corby, Chester, Dorset, London, Southampton, Hastings, Carlisle, Newcastle, Sheffield, Glasgow, York, Birmingham.
  • Joined pastoral staff team at Ivy Manchester Church in September 2003.
  • Working with teams across the UK who are preparing outreach festivals, following Festival:Manchester - eg Chester, Preston, Liverpool, London, Glasgow, Newcastle.
  • Started City Links charitable trust in September 2003.
  • Launched Redeeming Our Communities in the North West in September 2004.
  • Launched the North West Leaders' Forum in 2004.
  • Book- City-changing prayer published by Kingsway/Survivor summer 2005. 
  • Launched Redeeming Our Communities nationally May 13th 06.
  • Joined the Council of Reference for Open Doors International, July 2006.
  • Appointed as an Advocate for Compassion in 2007.
  • Book - Redeeming Our Communities - 21st Century Miracles of Social Transformation published by New Wine Press in March 2008.
