ROC in Lancashire
ROC has had links with Lancashire Police for several years which have recently been re-visited with a view to setting up community projects. In July 2011, in response to an article on the benefits of working in partnership with our local Fire & Rescue Service, we were approached by Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service. The Fire Service would like to form a partnership which would bring churches and faith communities together with the to reach out to some of the most deprived areas in Lancashire.
Our initial work will involve one or two pilot projects with a view to replicating these across the county. We are looking for churches who might be interested in helping us pioneer this work in Lancashire following a similar model of what has worked so well in other regions. Please contact us if you would like more information.
"The picture is only complete when every person brings their piece and places it in the right position. This is what community transformation looks like. Quite often people feel that their contribution might be small or insignificant, but if their contribution is missing, there's a gap where it should have been! We want to encourage people to play a vital part and bring what they have to offer for the good of the whole."
