Welcome to the 40th edition of Redeeming Our Communities Bulletin.
Debra angle

On November 2nd I was in  London meeting with Premier Radio and speaking at the Transform Southwark event. Chief Superintendent Wayne Chance (Divisional Borough Commander for Southwark), who also spoke at the event, said to me, "If you are considering launching Redeeming Our Communities in London you will be pushing an open door".

I had been reflecting on the idea of an open door for some time. The Bible talks about God opening a door no one can shut in the book of Revelation. Chief Constable Matt Baggott (Northern Ireland Police) has often reminded us that we are experiencing a season where the door of opportunity is open but we do not know how long it will last for. I suggest that now is the time to go through any open doors and we need to be prepared to be agents of change in our nation.

October has flown by and it has been a month when our 10 cities strategy has really made progress. We are now planning follow up events in Greater Manchester and Merseyside, a launch in Birmingham, and have tentative plans in Leicestershire and London. You can read more about the current plans in Manchester, London and Birmingham by clicking on the picture links below.

We also continue to see the fruit of these city-wide launches in smaller towns around the UK. In October I was able to speak at the 'United by Faith event hosted by Staffordshire Police, inspired by Chief Inspector Phil Fortun's attendance of the Merseyside launch in June this year. Later in November, I will be visiting Barnstaple, where a team including Dave Samms and Roger Bartlett have been making great progress in united community action since the National launch in 2006.

This weekend we look forward to our training conference in Daventry where we hope to be equipping many more people in the task of working alongside the police and authorities to reach communities across the UK. We are unable to take any further bookings for the full conference, but if you would like to attend on Saturday as a day delegate, please contact us by 12pm Friday 6th November. The conference is being held at Staverton Park DeVere Hotel in Daventry, Northamptonshire.
